There are some rites of passage for mother who just give birth to baby in Korea. Delivered women don't allowed to go out for a fresh air for a month long. And they also have to eat seaweed soup all the time for long time. Their mother had been doing that, and they teach their daughter to do the same.
It looks like awkward not to allowed to go out for a fresh air even a minute. They believe that their bones will be broken easily if they don't keep their tradition.
I'm a doctor but I can't persuade not to do that. Their belief is so strong that I can't talk about it.
